Pay for AI APIs with Alipay, WeChat Pay or a Card (USD)

The short answer: HopBase is pay as you go in US dollars, with no subscription. You top up a USD balance and usage is deducted as you go. Accepted payment methods are Visa and Mastercard cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay (mainland China), AlipayHK and WeChat Pay. If a payment method carries a fee, the top-up page shows it before you pay, together with the amount you pay and the amount credited, and the balance is credited automatically once payment succeeds. Prepaid credit does not expire while your account is active. One balance pays for every model your keys can reach: Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, GLM, Kimi, Doubao, and image and video models such as Seedance and Kling. For a company bank transfer, an invoice or company billing, contact the HopBase team.

Your balance and every charge are in USD. Any payment fee depends on the method and is shown on the top-up page before you confirm, so you see the exact amount before you pay.

How a top-up works

  1. Sign in to the console. Registration is open.
  2. Open Recharge in the menu and choose an amount.
  3. Pick a payment method. The page shows the payment currency, any fee, the amount to pay and the amount to be credited.
  4. Pay. The balance is credited automatically once the payment succeeds.

Your past payments and their order numbers are listed under Recharge records. You need the order number for refund or invoice requests.

How the balance is used

  • Pay as you go. Successful requests are billed in each model's pricing unit (tokens, images, seconds of video or characters). Failed requests are not billed, an interrupted stream is billed only for the output already produced, and failed asynchronous tasks are not billed.
  • One balance for every model. A key can include up to 10 groups across platforms, and all of them draw from the same account balance.
  • Exact charge per request. Every billed non-streaming response carries the X-HopBase-Cost-USD header and usage.cost_usd, the amount actually deducted. Finished video and image tasks report the same field. Streamed requests are on the console's Usage page.
  • Check the balance from code. GET https://api.hop-base.com/v1/usage returns what a key can spend right now. When the balance or a quota runs out, requests return HTTP 402 insufficient_quota. See Account and catalog API.
  • Limit spend per key or per person. Keys can have their own spend caps. Enterprise accounts also get member and department quotas. See Claude Code for teams.

Model list prices are on the pricing page. Prices that vendors publish in CNY are converted to USD and charged from your USD balance.

Invoices, company billing and refunds

  • Invoices and company billing: contact us with your account email, the order number from Recharge records, and your invoicing details.
  • Company bank transfers and offline top-ups: contact us. For CNY transfers, support confirms the USD amount credited.
  • Refunds: under section 4 of the Terms of Service, consumed credit and bonus credit (promotions or rewards) are not refunded in cash. For any other refund request, contact us with your account email and the order number.

For line-by-line cost allocation, the Usage page exports an itemized CSV. See AI API usage reconciliation and chargeback.
